Picture Car specialist Des Erasmus has been enthusiastic about classic, sports and racing cars all his life and draws on 32 years of experience in the film, TV and stills industry. He provides a variety of specialist services, from sourcing cars, modifying cars to auto detailing, vehicle transport and tracking vehicles.
In 2009, Des Erasmus, started a company, Picture Cars based in Cape Town, Picture Cars focus is to enhance the smoothness of your production.
He started in the production industry as a teenager appearing in TV commercials. It was after an accident on stage in the 80's, for Pieter Toerien’s production of Equus, resulting in a broken foot, which led to Erasmus starting Cinemobiles. Due to his inability to audition for any productions, and his discovery of a need for picture vehicle supply to the industry, he decided to see what he could do armed with only a telephone and an extensive knowledge, driven by his passion for cars and film.
